The Marine Corps has pushed a large element forwards to Spain in anticipation of a rumored Status of Forces Agreement with an unnamed African nation. Currently, USAFRICOM is headquartered in Germany and relies on a patchwork of cooperative security locations, and forward operating sites to counter violent extremism, work with partner nations and prosecute counterterrrorism operations.
