Overseas (OCONUS) jobs are available in a variety of locations, from Afghanistan and Kuwait to the South Korea and Germany. Positions may be 100 percent deployed, contract or permanent positions. Veterans are often preferred for combat zone jobs but military experience is not required for all overseas positions. Locality pay adjustments and tax incentives may apply for some positions.
By taking an OCONUS assignment, you can build extraordinary relationships, grow in your career, and provide your family with an experience they’ll never forget. And through all of this, you really gain a new perspective on the world.
If you’ve worked overseas you may be entitled to Social Security benefits in that country. The good news for security clearance holders is that benefit may be transferable to the US Social Security system.
