Chances are, the evolving landscape of national security is an interest of yours. And if that’s the case,  take an hour to watch this month’s webinar with the Honorable Susan M. Gordon, former Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence on Personnel Vetting 2.0. Joined by President of CANDA Solutions and security expert Andrew Razumovsky and moderated by ClearanceJobs’ Lindy Kyzer, the session dives into updated approaches to personnel vetting and security processes in a fast-paced world. Watch the full discussion below.

During the conversation, Gordon shared hard-hitting reflections on legacy systems and the need for agility. “You can’t get to the future holding on to everything you’ve done in the past. It’s just too heavy,” she stated, underscoring the need to shed inefficient practices. Gordon emphasized that embracing technological advancements is essential for national security to adapt to new threats effectively.

Razumovsky agreed, highlighting the importance of involving everyone from the ground up in these changes: “Change management is key. Without buy-in from everyone involved, any new system is doomed to fail.” He pointed out that while bureaucratic roadblocks and outdated systems remain hurdles, collaboration and communication are essential to modernize security processes effectively.

As the webinar continued, Gordon stressed that empowering leaders to “imagine doing things differently” should be a priority. “If we can’t have a conversation about how risk is different today than it was when we first designed our systems, we’re going to have a hard time getting there.”

In a field where risk and security must be carefully balanced, the conversation offered valuable perspectives on the future of national security vetting. Tune into this thought-provoking webinar to hear directly from these experts on what it will take to keep national security agile and effective in today’s landscape.
