Layoffs were feared earlier this year at Lockheed Martin’s facility in Marietta, GA. However, the massive airplane factory is keeping busy. So far, jobs have not been lost. In fact, Lockheed Martin could hire another 500 workers in the area over the next few years.

While F-22 production is ending, work on military cargo planes and the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter is heating up. About 7,300 people work at the Marietta, GA plant, 1,500 on the F-22 program.
