Under the 2005 BRAC, Huntsville, Alabama will be gaining 4,651 government positions for Redstone Arsenal and Huntsville. Roughly 2,00 positions have been filled, of those about 56% were taken by people outside of the Huntsville area.
About 370 Army Materiel Command employees from Fort Belvoir have already moved to temporary offices on Redstone. Including the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command, a total of about 1,700 Army Materiel Command positions are moving here. More than $435 million in BRAC-related construction is on track for Redstone Arsenal.
