If you’re a runner, you know D.C. is a runner’s city – and has been long before the Warrior Dash and color runs made running trending across the country. With countless trails and sidewalks and some of the best views you could ask for, there are few better places to put in a quick mile or two, whether before or after work or during a family vacation.

Perhaps that’s part of the reason the Army Ten-Miler sells out within hours and has become one of the most popular runs in the D.C. metro. It combines a great run route, a good distance (not a marathon, more strenuous than a 5k), and a chance for everyone to show a little U.S. military pride.

ClearanceJobs is proud to join the ranks of this year’s Army Ten-Miler, acting as a race sponsor as well as sponsoring a running team for the race (which includes one participant who will run from the shadow race at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan).

As a race sponsor we’ll be exhibiting at the Health and Fitness Expo at the D.C. Armory Friday, October 19th and Saturday, October 20th. Be sure to stop by our booth sometime between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. to mee the ClearanceJobs team, pick up a few goodies and get a few great job search tips (or give them – we’ll have a special activity to let you chime in with your best tip). Runners will have the chance to sign up for a massage by a registered masseuse following the race – because anyone who runs 10 miles deserves a good back rub!

Be sure to keep an eye out for our runners on the race route – they’ll be sporting special running shirts. Also keep an eye out for the ClearanceJobs team throughout the race. Whether you’re in the military, preparing to transition out, or happily employed in the government sector, now is a great time to learn more about ClearanceJobs and pick up a few career networking tips.
