How important is the support of your family in a time of need? Service members grow accustomed to spending time away from family. Some wounded warriors continue to spend time away from family throughout their recovery and rehabilitation period, however. During periods of extended care, the cost of flying family members back and forth can be insurmountable. But during rehabilitation periods that can extend several years, being able to see family – especially during the holidays – is priceless.

Enter Luke’s Wings, a military charity dedicated to ensuring veterans and wounded warriors have the help and care of loved ones when they need it most.

“To-date, Luke’s Wings has provided over 2,300 airline tickets and hope to provide 100 more flights for the holiday season (we are close to 75 provided since Veterans Day). The number changes every day!” noted Lindsay Gill, executive director of Business Development. Lukes Wings provides free flights throughout the holiday season, processing requests even in the days leading up to Christmas.

ClearanceJobs is proud to once again be partnering with Luke’s Wings this holiday season to spread the word about this important mission, and the very positive impact it’s having on wounded warriors and their families. We encourage you to join with us. Each $50 donation will receive a 2015 Luke’s Wings ornament. A $350 donation is enough to pay for the average flight, and will receive an ornament and acknowledgement card.

With so many ways to spend your money at the holidays, it can be difficult to know where to begin. Luke’s Wings is one military support organization doing its part to put veterans first, meeting an unmet need and helping with a true morale concern around the holiday season. Because no one should spend Christmas alone, we’re grateful for organizations like Luke’s Wings for reuniting wounded warriors with loved ones – a truly priceless gift to consider giving this holiday.
