General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc., Poway, California, has been awarded a $56,656,833 undefinitized contract action order (0034) to an existing basic ordering agreement (FA8620-15-G-4040) for the Spain MQ-9 Exportable Block 5 Procurement program. Contractor will provide MQ-9 aircraft and its associated equipment. Work will be performed at Poway, California, and is expected to be complete by Jan. 31, 2019. This contract is 100 percent foreign military sales to Spain. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.
NAVY
Andromeda Systems Inc.,* Virginia Beach, Virginia, is being awarded a $ $40,620,652 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for logistics and technical support services including planning, analysis, development, training, support equipment management, and facilities in support of the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Florida (63 percent); Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (23 percent); and Arlington, Virginia (14 percent), and is expected to be completed in January 2022. No funds will be obligated at time of award; funds will be obligated on individual task orders as they are issued. This contract was awarded competitively via electronic request for proposal as a 100 percent small business set-aside; two proposals were received. The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, Orlando, Florida, is the contracting activity (N61340-17-D-0002).
Boston Ship Repair LLC, Boston, Massachusetts, is being awarded a $17,244,435 firm-fixed-price contract for a75-calendar day shipyard availability for the regular overhaul and dry docking of USNS Comfort (T-AH 20). Work will include clean and gas free tanks, voids, cofferdams and spaces, steel repairs service area six, main circular pump number 1 repairs, open main and ships service turbine generator turbines, switchboard/motor controller cleaning inspection, auxiliary diesel generator top end overhaul, crew berthing space head and shower area upgrade, medical treatment facility head overhauls, sea valve and salt water ballast tank overflow valves, underwater hull preservation. The contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the total contract value to $18,436,195. Work will be performed in Boston, Massachusetts, and is expected to be completed by May 28, 2017. Fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance (Navy) contract funds in the amount of $17,244,435 are obligated, and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with proposals solicited via the Federal Business Opportunities website, with two offers received. The Navy’s Military Sealift Command, Norfolk, Virginia, is the contracting activity (N32205-17-C-4400).
Baldi Bros. Inc.,* Beaumont, California, is being awarded $10,663,069 for firm-fixed-price task order 0004 under a previously awarded multiple award construction contract (N62473-15-D-2443) for repair to Taxiway Charlie at Naval Base Ventura County. The work to be performed provides for repairing distressed concrete airfield pavement and providing code compliant airfield lighting for Taxiway Charlie. The project is to demolish and construct airfield pavement section including adjoining shoulders, demolish existing taxiway lighting, install edge lights, and an electrical distribution system meeting current Federal Aviation Administration standards. Work will be performed in Point Mugu, California, and is expected to be completed by December 2017. Fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance (Navy) contract funds in the amount of $10,663,069 are obligated on this award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Five proposals were received for this task order. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest, San Diego, California, is the contracting activity.
ARMY
Science and Technology Corporation,* Hampton, Virginia, was awarded a $22,346,913 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for machining, welding, painting and fabrication support services for the Army’s Aberdeen Test Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Bids were solicited via the Internet with four received. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Jan. 4, 2022.
