INSF, ClearanceJobs, Avantus Federal Announce Launch of Multimedia Campaign Focused on Future of IC Workforce

The Intelligence and National Security Foundation (INSF), in partnership with ClearanceJobs and Avantus Federal, is launching a series of virtual programs focused on the Future of the Intelligence Community (IC) Workforce. These conversations with senior public and private sector leaders aim to foster a robust dialogue about how the IC can capitalize on best practices and lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first in a three-part series, entitled “Remote Work Trends,is scheduled for February 23 from 2-3 PM ET (register here), and features former NSA Executive Director Harry Coker, Jr. and Avantus Federal CEO Andy Maner in a discussion moderated by ClearanceJobs senior editor Lindy Kyzer. Bringing decades of executive-level public and private sector experience to the issue, these two leaders will candidly share their insights into the challenges and opportunities remote work affords, as well as the structural changes needed to ensure the IC effectively leverages new and emerging technologies. Future programs will touch on workforce recruitment, retention, and reskilling and the technologies and infrastructure that enable remote work.

“The pandemic provided a wake-up call to everyone working on national security,” said Suzanne Wilson Heckenberg, president of INSF and its affiliated organization, the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA). “Nearly one year into this ‘new normal,’ it is clear that agencies and contractors can effectively advance the national security mission in remote and hybrid work environments. As we welcome the new administration to office, these programs will foster much needed dialogue and information sharing to ensure decisionmakers build on hard-earned workforce reforms and technology successes.”

As more employees return to work, the IC is poised to take lessons learned and turn them into new employment realities.

“Innovation is at the heart of what the IC does. One thing that is clear is that workplaces will not be returning to the default, even post-pandemic,” said Evan Lesser, founder and president, ClearanceJobs. “What we have today is a critical opportunity to create a new framework that helps to attract and retain talent – always one of the biggest challenges any company or organization faces.”

Through a combination of videos, podcasts, and white papers, INSF and ClearanceJobs will examine how the community can reimagine the traditional IC work model while still protecting sensitive information, employees, and communications from adversaries.

“While the needs of today are crucial, an eye on the future is essential for us to acquire the tools and talent needed to deliver what’s next,” noted Avantus Federal CEO Andy Maner. “In today’s current landscape, the needs of five generations of employees are coming to the forefront. These conversations and efforts by INSF are a step in the right direction, and I look forward to what the brilliant and innovative minds in the IC come up with to address these challenges.”
