The journey begins with you
The attribute that matters most at Booz Allen is you—and this fact underlies everything they do.“We keep people at the center of our work,” says Terri Gregos, a candidate experience manager. “The recruiting journey is more than a process for our candidates—it’s a life event.”
How does Booz Allen make sure you have the best experience? As a consecutive winner of the prestigious CandE Awards in 2020 and 2021, the organization has taken the #TheCandEs Pledge from the Talent Board.
Here’s what they promise as they build a relationship with you:
Guide You Through the Process.
Booz Allen believes you should have time to plan for each step of the hiring process and the space to connect organically with your interviewers before your big day. “Communication and transparency are key for us,” says Heather Holdaway, a Booz Allen recruiter. “In our first chat, you’ll come away knowing what to expect and how to plan.”
Zachary Williams is an aerospace engineer who noticed the Booz Allen difference from the start. “Shortly after my first call with a recruiter, I had documents about the recruiting process, what to expect, who I would talk to, the order of events, as well as a benefits document,” he says. “I’ve never felt so prepared.”
You’ll also have access to helpful resources, like their hiring journey map and interview tips, so you can bring your best self.
Engage with you authentically.
Interviewing with the Booz Allen team? Bring your point of view. “Our interviews are really just conversations,” says Heather. “It puts people at ease and allows us all to be genuine.”
The hiring managers introduce you to their teams and projects, offering different perspectives, and they encourage their candidates to do the same.
“We’ve developed a unique way to interview our tech candidates: we talk about gaming,” says Joe Riolo, aerospace program manager of developed solutions. “It’s a great way for us to connect about something fun and see how you and your skills would fit on our highly technical team.”
Develop a relationship with you.
Relationships matter to Booz Allen because you matter. For Nadine Johnson, a risk reporting and dashboard specialist, it was a connection with her recruiter that made all the difference.
“I applied for one position, but a recruiter came back and suggested one that was an even better fit,” she says. “Things moved quickly from there.”
The more connections during your hiring journey, the better they are able to keep in touch with you—both now and moving forward.
“We care about you and we want to get to know you,” says Heather.
For Joe, it’s all about building lasting relationships.
“We’re born of a consultancy over a century ago and it’s still in our blood today. People have always mattered to us. It’s who we are.”
