March was less about putting high contract amounts towards COVID-19 testing and services, and more about DoD readiness needs for equipment and training. While the Defense Logistics Agency had two of the largest awards for the month, the Army and Navy held six of the top 10 contracts in March. And the top 10 contracts in March totaled $9,414,842,550, but Lockheed Martin was awarded over half of the largest contracts this month with four different agencies. As the White House sets the budget for 2023, planning for a significant increase for the DoD, it’s important for defense contractors to begin planning and strategizing now for future contracts.
