Xcelerate Solutions, a national security leader based in Tysons, VA, is doubling down on its roots in Fairfax County with a major headquarters expansion. The company—known for its work in enterprise vetting, cybersecurity, and critical infrastructure protection—is more than tripling its Tysons footprint from 7,700 to over 23,000 square feet. With 1,400 employees nationwide and 350 in Fairfax County alone, Xcelerate expects to significantly grow its local workforce over the next year as it continues to support defense, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies across the U.S.

CEO Mark Drever emphasized the personal significance of the expansion, calling it a proud moment for a company founded in Fairfax County on September 11, 2009. Since becoming part of McNally Capital’s portfolio in 2023, Xcelerate has rapidly grown through strategic acquisitions, most recently adding clearAvenue in October 2025. Local leaders hailed the expansion as both an investment in national security innovation and a boost for the regional economy. Xcelerate’s growth is also backed by a strong culture of service—through its Orange Spark initiative, the company supports veterans, STEM education, and community health programs, reinforcing its mission of protection and purpose both inside and outside the national security arena.

Contract Opportunities: XTEC

XTec has landed a new task order from the General Services Administration to modernize USAccess, the federal government’s identity credentialing program. The roughly $9 million award will help overhaul the system that issues Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards to federal employees and contractors, making it more modular, scalable, and adaptable to emerging technologies.

The upgrade—known as USAccess 2.0—marks a significant step in modernizing the governmentwide credentialing infrastructure first launched in 2007. The refreshed platform will incorporate modern identity protocols like OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0, support multi-tenant architectures, and streamline secure authentication processes across more than 100 federal agencies.

Set to kick off in early 2026, the task force will bring together leaders from industry, academia, and government to outline a national strategy for workforce readiness in the AI era. Its first findings are expected at SCSP’s AI Expo next May — part of a broader push to ensure that innovation and opportunity in AI stay anchored in American talent.
