Veterans can still use AI safely during their transition when it’s treated as a supportive tool rather than a source of authoritative guidance. It’s especially helpful for drafting resumes that you can later verify for accuracy, brainstorming potential career directions, and identifying smart questions to bring to TAP or VA counselors. AI can also help you prepare for interviews by generating practice questions or refining your talking points, and it can clarify general education pathways—such as how degrees, certificates, or licensing requirements typically work—without replacing school or VA advisors.

Many veterans also find AI useful for drafting emails, letters, or formal requests, as well as creating summaries of public-facing policies, as long as the information is cross-checked with official sources to ensure accuracy.
