Scale AI is among nine technology companies partnering with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) U.S. Tech Force initiative, a government-wide effort designed to recruit top technical talent and accelerate modernization across federal agencies.
OPM announced that Scale AI, alongside Arista Networks, Armada, Cisco, Cognition AI, Cognizant, Payward, Moveworks from ServiceNow, and Wiz, will contribute expertise and resources to help strengthen the federal government’s technical workforce.
The initiative aims to create stronger connections between industry and government by encouraging technologists to serve in temporary government roles while providing training, mentorship, and career pathways that extend beyond public service.
“America’s best technologists are stepping up to help rebuild how government works,” said OPM Director Scott Kupor. “These partnerships bring world-class engineering expertise into public service and create a stronger pipeline between industry and government at a moment when modernizing federal technology has never been more important.”
Scale AI Brings AI Expertise to Government Modernization
Among the newest partners, Scale AI’s participation underscores the growing role artificial intelligence is expected to play in government operations, national security, and critical infrastructure.
The company, which has become a major player in AI data infrastructure and government AI programs, said its involvement reflects a commitment to helping agencies access both emerging technologies and technical talent.
“Scale is proud to join the U.S. Tech Force initiative and bring its decade of AI expertise to support the next generation of government technology modernization,” a Scale AI spokesperson said to ClearanceJobs. “Supporting mission-driven public service and helping equip the government with world-class technical talent is increasingly important as AI becomes more central to national security and critical public infrastructure.”
Scale AI has expanded its footprint across federal agencies in recent years, supporting AI adoption efforts and helping government organizations deploy machine learning capabilities at scale. Its participation in Tech Force positions the company as one of several private-sector partners helping bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology development and public-sector implementation.
Broad Coalition of Technology Leaders
While Scale AI’s AI expertise may draw particular attention, the broader group of industry partners represents a wide range of technologies critical to government modernization.
Networking giant Cisco and cloud networking provider Arista Networks bring deep experience in enterprise infrastructure and cybersecurity. Wiz has emerged as one of the fastest-growing cloud security companies, while Cognizant contributes extensive experience in digital transformation and IT services.
Armada, Cognition AI, Payward, and Moveworks add capabilities spanning edge computing, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and workplace automation.
Under the partnership framework, participating companies will provide technical training resources, executive engagement opportunities, and specialized programming for Tech Force participants. They will also be able to nominate employees for temporary government service assignments, helping agencies gain access to private-sector expertise on critical modernization projects.
Building the Federal Technology Workforce
The Tech Force initiative reflects a broader federal effort to compete for highly skilled technical talent at a time when agencies face increasing demands to modernize legacy systems, strengthen cybersecurity defenses, and adopt emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
By creating pathways for technologists to move between government and industry, OPM hopes to establish a sustainable talent pipeline capable of supporting long-term digital transformation efforts across the federal enterprise.
The addition of these technology partners expands the initiative’s reach into some of the most influential sectors of the technology industry, ranging from AI and cybersecurity to networking and cloud services.
As federal agencies continue pursuing modernization initiatives, these partnerships could play an increasingly important role in bringing private-sector innovation and expertise into government service.
