For the third year ClearanceJobs is proud to be a sponsor of the Army Ten-Miler, an annual run held in Washington, D.C. and hosted by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington. More than 35,000 runners participate in the race, making it the second largest 10-mile race in the United States. This is the third year ClearanceJobs has fielded a team, and this year’s group was nearly 75-strong, putting in more than 700 miles through the streets of Washington.
Congratulations to this year’s fastest runners, who received a shiny new tablet to go along with their race success:
Derrek Montoya: 1:03:01
Mary Abraham: 1:08:50
ClearanceJobs plans to sponsor the race again next year with a 100-person running team. Stay tuned for an announcement next spring for how you can get all of the perks for joining our team, from a free race bib and $50 gift card to the best secret squirrel running gear around.
“I love the Army Ten Miler for many reasons, the biggest is the inspiration it provides,” said Rachel Lesser, co-founder and community manager of ClearanceJobs.com.” If you can run ten miles, you can accomplish any goal, including finding that right job. I’m proud that ClearanceJobs is a sponsor because it’s so important to support our troops. That may sound cliché, but it’s true.”
We’re going to say it – the best giveaway of the Army Ten-Miler expo? Our very own secret squirrel sweatbands. We gave every single sweatband away by day 2 of the expo. Be sure to stop by early next year to get your secret squirrel running gear!
Secret squirrels, unite!
We love runners who join us year after year – and rock our ‘Life of a Secret Squirrel’ gear.
More than 35,000 runners raced the Army Ten-Miler, with the ClearanceJobs team alone logging more than 700 miles through the streets of D.C.
By mile 8 of the race, our secret squirrels are a little sweaty – but the finish line is almost in sight!
The look of post-race victory!
Congrats to all of our 2014 Army Ten-Miler team members! See you at next year’s race!
