The war in Ukraine continues to shine a spotlight on ways that the U.S. military has adapted over the years to the changing environment. And many contractors are poised and ready to support Ukraine. Raytheon was recently awarded a $182 million contract for the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System, also known as NASAMS™, a highly adaptable mid-range air defense solution. These systems are expected to be provided to Ukraine in response to their need to defend against advanced air threats.
“Raytheon Missiles & Defense and our partners are working diligently to quickly deliver this critical, proven air defense capability to help the Ukrainian people defend their homeland,” said Tom Laliberty, president of Land Warfare & Air Defense, a Raytheon Missiles & Defense business area. “Ukraine will join a dozen nations around the globe who rely on NASAMS to defeat a multitude of threats, including cruise missiles, aircraft, and unmanned systems.”
NASAMS provides air defenders with a tailorable, state-of-the-art defense system that can maximize their ability to identify, engage, and destroy current and evolving enemy aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, and emerging cruise missile threats.

Malwarebytes
Malwarebytes has cut about 14% of its global workforce, which is 125 employees laid off at the cybersecurity firm. Layoff news trickled over to social media, with Malwarebytes founder confirming with TechCrunch. Rather than a company-wide Zoom call, the individual employees had one-on-one Zoom meetings to find out that it was their last day at the company. One online layoff tracker notes that the majority of the layoffs were in San Fransisco, CA.
Malwarebytes founder, Marcin Kleczynski, said, “While difficult, these changes reflect a careful realignment of our business moving forward to meet the needs of our customers and will enable the organization’s long-term growth.”
Other cybersecurity firms have readjusted and realigned their staffing recently, as well.

Epsilon Systems Solutions Inc
Epsilon Systems Solutions Inc is just one of five prime contractors that shares an almost $5 billion award on the NOVASTAR contract in the Dayton area. The contract consolidates 20 intelligence analysis service contracts, reducing the number of vendors who serve the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright=Patterson Air Force Base.
Michael Ronayne, director for Epsilon C5I intelligence services, said he’s leasing office space in Beavercreak, OH and they will absolutely be hiring to fill this contract. He said they will need over 100 employees added to their team by the middle of next year.
