Peraton won the $284 million award in support of the Missile and Space Intelligence Center (MSIC) with the Solutions for Intelligence Analysis 3 Countering Advanced Conventional Weapons Analytical Requirements (SCAR) task order over a five-year period. The SCAR task order is designed to provide the missile defense community with the flexibility needed to adjust the order of out-year weapon systems and modeling and simulation studies as required by mission needs and meet both current and emerging threats.

Layoffs: BAE Systems
According to the San Diego Union Tribune, BAE Systems reported to the state of California that they’ll be eliminating 285 jobs at their San Diego Bay Yard. Congressional decisions to move shipyard repair or change course with ship decisions impact many of the shipyards around the country, as well as, the local workforce. From electricians to welders, the cuts impact a variety of workers at BAE Systems.

Palantir Technologies was awarded a multi-year contract worth up to $463 million from the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Palantir helps USSOCOM parse the petabytes of data emanating from today’s environments and enables decision-making.
Palantir has made advancements in Large Language Models (LLMs), reducing the cognitive load on warfighters and commanders. They’ve also made advancements in edge processing and edge AI to maximize the warfighter’s ability to integrate and utilize real-time information.
