Last week the Air Force provided an update on its deviceONE initiative, which is allowing a limited number of Air Force professionals to access classified information via secure laptop and VDI interface. The technology is something cleared professionals have been advocating for. The platform doesn’t come without risks. But like all elements of the personnel security program, it’s all about risk mitigation. Yes, information can be compromised by letting a secure laptop go home with a classified employee. But information can also be compromised when an employee decides to stuff it down her pantyhose.
