Veterans Support Network & Professional Development Opportunities

Serco employs over 50,000 people in 35 countries across the world, and 8,000 in the Americas.  Approximately 20% of their workforce are veterans, reservists, and/or military spouses, and they take pride in providing support networks and opportunities that cater specifically to their needs to ensure a successful career journey at Serco.

Serco’s veteran-focused Employee Resource Group (ERG), sercoVets, provides a forum for Serco employees who are veterans, military spouses, and allies to feel a sense of community and camaraderie among their peers, allowing them to connect, network, and grow as professionals. SercoVets offers employees an array of initiatives and activities, transition support, professional development, mentorship and networking opportunities.

Serco is proudly committed to hiring veterans and strives to ensure that they have a long-term career and growth plan that employs the diverse skills they acquired through their military service. Serco was recently recognized as one of the 675 recipients of the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Award. This is the only Federal award program that recognizes companies who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is based on a number of criteria, ranging from veteran hiring and retention to providing veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, and dedicated compensation and tuition assistance programs – with requirements varying for large, medium, and small employers.
