The National Security Agency (NSA) Joint Cryptologic Center (JCC) held its groundbreaking ceremony at Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora, CO. Construction on the new facility begins this month. The JCC will provide dedicated administrative office space for NSAC Service Cryptologic Elements and house the Rocky Mountain Learning Center for unclassified training. NSA expects the new facility to be occupied by spring 2026. The JCC is a key addition to growing careers at NSA.

Back in August, NSA confirmed that they are 80% of the way to hitting their 2023 goal of hiring 3,000 employees. At a recent leadership breakfast with Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA), Director of NSA and Commander, U.S. Cyber Command General Nakasone confirmed that hiring is on target this year. The agency also expects major hiring goals in 2024, as well. General Nakasone shared that new facilities in locations like Colorado and Texas help NSA to connect with talent outside of Maryland.

This boost, driven by increased demand for weapons, has notably benefited defense manufacturers, with key players like General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, Aerojet Rocketdyne, and Lockheed Martin witnessing significant contracts and expansions in Highland Industrial Park. This upswing in defense spending has spurred economic growth, job creation, and increased production, particularly in Arkansas’ thriving defense manufacturing district.
