KBR is making a major move in the classified space sector with its $737 million acquisition of LinQuest, a defense and space support contractor known for its expertise in highly classified projects. This acquisition boosts KBR’s national security workforce to 3,000 personnel, many of whom hold high-level clearances and specialize in space programs. With growing military demand for space control and domain awareness, especially amid rising geopolitical tensions, KBR is now poised to become a key player in supporting the U.S. Space Force’s operations. LinQuest’s recent $562 million contract for military satellite communications further solidifies KBR’s position as a major support contractor in the classified space domain.

In another round of cuts, Microsoft is laying off 650 employees in its Xbox division, marking the third set of job reductions this year as it continues to manage costs and integrate its $69 billion Activision Blizzard acquisition, Bloomberg reports. The layoffs primarily impact corporate and support roles, with no gaming projects, devices, or studios being canceled, according to a memo from Xbox chief Phil Spencer. This move follows a year of widespread layoffs and shutdowns in the gaming industry, as companies face slower spending by gamers and lower engagement post-pandemic.

Hiring: Anduril

Anduril Industries is making waves in the defense tech world with a hiring spree that’s hard to ignore.
