| Peraton | Peraton secured a seat on the Navy’s new indefinite-deliver/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) supporting the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific. The IDIQ is worth up to $250 million with a 5-year contract period, supporting the technical development of NIWC Pacific’s maritime Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Information Operations (IO) activities. Peraton has 30 years of experience supporting NIWC Pacific, and they will compete on task orders under the IDIQ to rapidly prototype, integrate, develop, and produce systems that aid warfighters.

Growth Opportunities
We talk a bit about the benefits of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), but the unmanned role is needed on land as well. Micro Systems Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of San Diego-based Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, recently won a $61 million, five year contract with the Army, supporting their weapons system testing and evaluation program. As a small business, based in Florida with only 175 employees, the large contract win signals growth for the contractor. Micro Systems will be developing hardware and software in support of the Army Ground Aerial Target Control System’s land and aerial vehicles. Unmanned vehicles protect military personnel from hazards – in training and on the battlefield. Micro System’s unmanned hardware and software has been installed on Humvees and tanks. Automate vehicles isn’t just a fun idea, but rather a world of engineering jobs that support life saving technology in the DoD.
