ClearanceJobs.com is giving $4,065 to Operation Gratitude as a part of an ongoing charity campaign. For every employer subscription to ClearanceJobs.com purchased in the first quarter of 2013, a $15 donation was made to Operation Gratitude. The donation will be enough to send more than 250 care packages to deserving service members, wounded warriors and veterans.

“With the help of the employers that use ClearanceJobs, we were able to donate over $10,000 to warrior related non-profits last year,” said Evan Lesser, founder and Managing Director of ClearanceJobs.com.  “We’re glad to be able to expand upon our partnership with Operation Gratitude this year. It’s a great way for us to show our appreciation to our military service members, and involve our customers in an act of giving back.”

Operation Gratitude seeks to lift morale in the military community by sending care packages addressed to individual soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines deployed overseas, to their children left behind, and to veterans, first responders, wounded warriors and their care givers. Each $15 donation will pay the assembly and shipping costs for one care package.

Approximately 70% of the candidates who join ClearanceJobs.com are veterans. As more service members return home and seek to find employment, ClearanceJobs.com is available as one resource for targeted job listings, career resources and hundreds of defense industry employers eager to hire talented, cleared vets.

“Our mission is to say “Thank You” to our service members, veterans, first responders and their families, and to let them know they are never forgotten,” said Carolyn Blashek, founder and president of Operation Gratitude.  “We’re delighted to have the support of ClearanceJobs.com and their customers. This kind of ongoing donation ensures we’re able to express our never-ending appreciation to those who selflessly serve this great country.”

After over ten years at war and with deployment levels drawing down, it can be easy to forget that thousands of service members continue to spend months away from their families in grueling overseas assignments. With sequestration and budget cuts putting more strain on both service members and their families, small acts of appreciation grow even more important.

“Let me start off with a huge “Thank you” from myself and the other Soldiers of the **** here in Southern, Afghanistan. It is always pleasant to get a letter or a care package in the mail, but it was amazing opening the boxes we got from Operation Gratitude. There were many supportive letters and cards in every Soldier’s box reminding us that there are great Americans out there supportive of the sacrifices we face every day we spend away from home.” – Letter from a service member who received a care package through Operation Gratitude.

About Operation Gratitude:
Operation Gratitude annually sends 100,000+ care packages filled with snacks, toiletries, entertainment and handmade items,  plus personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed in harm’s way, to their Children left behind, and to Veterans, First Responders, Wounded Warriors and their Care Givers. Our mission is to lift morale, bring a smile to a service member’s face and express to our Military and their families the appreciation and support of the American people. Each package contains donated product valued at $75-100 and costs the organization $15 to assemble and ship. Since its inception in 2003, Operation Gratitude has shipped more than 950,000 packages to American Military and their families.  We will send our One Millionth Care Package on December 7, 2013.  For more information: www.OperationGratitude.com ; opgrat@gmail.com
