Does company size matter? Talking with leadership and employees at Fulcrum, an IT services and solutions firm serving the federal government, it’s clear the answer is ‘yes’.

“Our ability to attract employees is the fact that we are a smaller company – we have a more hands-on approach with our employees,” Kenneth Diller, vice president of business development and growth.

“It does fit within a nice sweet spot of size where you can balance the small company feel, where you have access to managers and senior leaders, but there’s also enough contracts ongoing that you feel confident in your job stability,” said Anderson Davis, program manager, Fulcrum.

The president of the company attends every new hire session. And it’s not uncommon for employees at Fulcrum to run into the executive team in the hallways. And while company size gives advantages when it comes to job stability and company growth, it also has a very direct impact on culture and workplace environment, as well.

“Fulcrum’s culture is unique in that it has a lot of enthusiasm, and is not quite as rigid,” said Davis.

“We work hard, but we have a great time doing it,” added Diller.
