ClearanceJobs sat down with Roxanne Wood, CEO of Boeing Intelligence and Analytics, to learn more about her role at Boeing and how Boeing supports national security and their employees.

Roxanne has been with Boeing since 2019. After beginning her career over thirty years ago as a software engineer, she organically grew her career through roles in program management and then into business development at Boeing. She then moved into the COO role, before finally landing in the CEO role two years ago. “I love the career path that I chose,” said Roxanne. “If I could do it all over again, I’d choose this exact same career path.”

Boeing’s Intelligence and Analytics arm supports national security in a variety of contexts. “Boeing supports a lot of three-letter agencies,” explained Roxanne. “We support the Defense Intelligence Agency, we support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, and we have a lot of other three-letter agencies we support too. A lot of it is from a data analytics and intelligence perspective, providing a lot of capabilities that protect homeland.”

Boeing Intelligence and Analytics is just one subsidiary of the greater Boeing company and network. “If you want to work in intelligence and data analytics, that’s great, but there’s also a conduit to work other places in Boeing,” explains Roxanne. Employees can move into different departments and even different cities across the U.S., while still supporting national security through their work with Boeing.

Though Boeing is hiring cleared candidates in a wide variety of contexts, Roxanne pointed out that two of their greatest needs right now are in DevSecOps Engineering and AWS-certified architects to manage cloud migration.

There are several reasons Boeing is a great place to work, but the work itself is a big one. “The main reason people come to work at Boeing is because of the work,” explains Roxanne. “If you don’t have good work, you won’t get good people, and we really focus on making sure that our work is strategic. Every position we have is important to the mission.”

The people of Boeing make it a great place to work too; in fact, it’s one of Roxanne’s favorite parts of her job. “Some of my best days on the job are making connections and personal contacts with people. Those connections make all the difference in the world.”
