BAE Systems acquired Malloy Aeronautics, a leading company specializing in innovative heavy lift drone and aeronautical technologies. The acquisition enahnces BAE Systems’ FalconWorks® family with Malloy’s expertise in quadcopters and sustainable air vehicles.

Malloy Aeronautics designs and supplies all-electric uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) to both civil and military customers. Their systems are capable of lifting payloads from 68kg to 300kg over short to medium-range missions. The collaboration between BAE Systems and Malloy began in 2021. They will continue to develop existing portfolios and accelerate new technologies for worldwide customers. The acquisition is part of BAE Systems’ strategy to invest in breakthrough technologies and augment existing capabilities in the rapidly evolving field of uncrewed aerial systems.


Contract Opportunities to Watch: Sayres Defense

Sayres Defense has secured a prime contract from the Department of Navy to provide professional support services for the PMS 300/PMS 325 programs, with a potential total contract value of $280 million if all options are exercised. The contract encompasses program management, engineering support, logistics management, concept design and analysis, as well as post-delivery services. Sayres Defense CEO, Tim Reardon, expressed pride in the company’s long-standing support to the Navy and its selection to contribute to NAVSEA’s essential PMS 300 and PMS 325 missions.
